Offerings — Trout Psychology

$250-$500 | 8 hours | 1 to 2 anglers
Main Purpose: Coach folks onto fish and give them on-the-fly tips to succeed.
Skills taught: Guide trips are fish-focused and teach basic casting, mending, hook setting and playing trout. Our guides love to share information, so please ask as many questions as you would like and we will do our best to expand your knowledge of the river and its fishy-inhabitants.
Time Commitment: A single 8-10 hour day! Let’s be honest: if the fishing is rockin’, we are staying out for a bit longer. Especially when you book with Nate.
Beginner Friendly? Absolutely! Show up with no experience needed.
Group or Private: Private: Available to you and a friend, or choose the Split with a Stranger option to split the cost with a new friend.

Main Purpose: To fill in the gaps of your specific fly fishing knowledge. Take a skills quiz after sign up and allow Kristen to build you (or you and a friend’s) custom curriculum. Learn more here!
Skills taught: Whatever you need to work on is what we teach! From casting, fly selection, water reading, all the way down to fly tying and boat rowing; if you have a goal, we want to help you get there.
Time Commitment: 1-6 days, depending on your wants and needs! The world is your oyster.
Beginner Friendly? Absolutely! Show up with no experience needed.
Group or Private: Private. Or choose the Split with a Stranger option to split the cost with a new friend who has similar skills needs.

$250 | One Month | Unlimited Video Analysis
Main Purpose: Coach folks onto their greatest casting potential.
Skills taught: Fundamentals to casting as well as advanced casting techniques including double haul and roll cast.
Time Commitment: At minimum, 15 to 20 minutes of practice twice a week for a month. Students who are dedicated to more practice time will see the best results.
Beginner Friendly? Absolutely! Show up with no experience needed.
Group or Private: Private:

Main Purpose: An in depth overview of all of the skills needed to fish independently.
Skills taught: Across three days students learn casting, water reading, mending, line management, trout behavior, and a system of decison making frameworks. Individual skills vary based on Beginner or Intermediate retreats.
Time Commitment: Three days of education plus travel days for those joining from out of state. View availability here!
Beginner Friendly? Absolutely ! The Beginner Retreat is a great way for true beginners and experienced beginners to gain independence and confidence.

Group or Private: Group

Main Purpose: To provide an 8 hour overview of the skills needed to begin your independent fly fishing journey.
Skills taught: A limited overview is provided across the topics of casting, mending, line management, water reading, trout behavior and fly selection.
Time Commitment: A single 8 hour day.
Beginner Friendly? Yes! These schools are a great introduction to beginning your fly fishing journey. Intermediate anglers however, may find the more in-depth courses like the private education, skills camps, or retreats to be a better fit.
Group or Private: Group

Main Purpose: To provide in-depth mastery of one specific branch of fly fishing skills.
Skills taught: Each Skills Camp will tackle a different skill. For example, Casting Camp will dive into mastering various casting forms, or Caddis Camp will focus on preparing students for success during Caddis season.
Camps are held throughout the year so that students can return and master new skills.

Time Commitment: Camps are a two day, one-night commitment.
Beginner Friendly? Yes! But just remember that these are highly specific camps and will not over a broad overview of fly fishing.
Group or Private: Group

Main Purpose: To provide folks with an enriched community events. Broad overview of casting and relevant skills will be provided before each community outing.
Skills taught:Very limited skills will be taught on these event dates. Casting, basic water reading, etc.
Time Commitment: Varies between events.
Beginner Friendly? Yes! These events are a great introduction to beginning your fly fishing journey. However, these are not meant to replace a true intro class.
